4. About “.bet.br” (Brazil): some sources display bet.br as a single domain with very high aggregate traffic; however, .bet.br is a regulated second-level namespace under .br (managed by NIC.br/Registro.br) created for licensed fixed-odds betting operators. Each operator typically uses its own third-level (e.g., brand.bet.br). Certain traffic lists may aggregate the entire .bet.br zone, which overstates a single “domain”. In this ranking we consider per-operator primary domains (e.g., brand.bet.br) and do not count the umbrella bet.br itself as one site.

Objective:
Deliver an independent, data-driven popularity ranking of gambling websites using publicly available traffic data.

Inclusion Criteria (Gambling-first focus):
Included are sites whose primary focus is gambling: online sportsbooks/betting operators, lottery providers, online casinos, poker rooms, and comparable real-money wagering services. Media sites where sports coverage is primary belong in the Sports ranking; promotional pages or affiliates without a user-facing gambling product may be excluded or grouped separately.

Core Ranking Factor – Website Traffic:
The ranking is formed from multi-source traffic assessment, combining 4 independent sources to improve accuracy and coverage.

Data Sources:

• Cisco Umbrella Top 1M: current demand/usage (passive DNS; daily updates; includes non-browser requests).
• Tranco Top 1M: comprehensive, noise-resistant (CrUX, Cloudflare Radar, Farsight, Majestic, Umbrella; 30-day average).
• Majestic Million: link authority (referring /24 subnets; daily updates).
• Similarweb: additional traffic analytics and engagement metrics.

Handling of Missing Data:
If a site is absent from any source, the missing value is averaged from available sources with a 10% pessimization to keep estimates conservative.

Ranking Scale:
Each site receives a proprietary index from 999 (maximum) to 0 (minimum), computed from a weighted combination of traffic metrics across sources.

Verification and Updates:
All sources are public and auditable. Updates are performed regularly to reflect changes in popularity and traffic patterns. This is a popularity index, not a legal register or compliance list.
