Objective:
Deliver an independent, data-driven ranking of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies using only publicly available sources. No paid submissions, private questionnaires, or undisclosed data are considered.
Core Ranking Factor – Market Capitalisation:
The market capitalisation of each pharma company (USD, as of 31 July 2025) is the key integrated metric. It reflects current scale and investor confidence in future development prospects, serving as the principal determinant in the final ranking score.
Additional Considerations (publicly verifiable):
Handling of Missing Data:
In cases where data for specific factors were unavailable for a company, the missing value was interpolated by averaging results of peer companies with comparable characteristics across the available factors. This ensures consistency and prevents undue advantage or penalty due to reporting gaps.
Ranking Scale:
Each company receives a proprietary ranking index from 999 (maximum, highest-ranked) to 0 (minimum), computed from a weighted combination of the factors above.
Public Data Sources (examples):
Company investor relations and annual reports; major financial data platforms (e.g., market capitalisation snapshots), sector research digests, public regulator portals for pipeline milestones, and reputable trade publications.
Key external sources consulted include: Forbes.com, PitchBook.com, PRNewswire.com, PharmaBoardroom.com, GlobalData.com, BioCentury.com, Financial Times Markets (markets.ft.com), Craft.co, and AnnualReports.com.
Only sources that are public and auditable are used.
